WHAT TO EXPECT
Pulling in to Destiny Church
All of our Sunday Services start at 10am. When you pull into our campus' parking lots, you will be greeted by some of our Parking Dream Teamers. They will help you find a parking spot and are happy to help hold an umbrella for you and your family on those wet rainy days.
Where do my children go?
Inside Destiny, you will be welcomed and escorted by our guest services team down to the Kids Check-In desk if you have children where our Destiny Kids Check-in team will help check-in your children to their appropriate Destiny Kids classrooms. We have children’s and youth programs available at all campuses. All volunteers go through background checks and receive excellent training. If you have an infant and you are not comfortable using the nursery, you are welcome to sit outside of the nursery in our foyer area and take care of your child or bring them into our services. After the service, you can go pick up your children after the service or after Growth Track at the Destiny Kids check-in counter.
What is a typical service like?
You are welcome to coffee served by our hospitality team, and encouraged to check out our guest services area before the service. We will have a 3 minute countdown to let you know when the service is about start. (Yes, you can take your coffee in the service with you!) All of our worship services have a casual and informal atmosphere. Led by a worship band, the music style is upbeat and contemporary.
Services are only a little over an hour.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. We are a casual church. You will find a range of dress styles from jeans and t-shirts, to shorts and flip-flops, to an occasional sport jacket and dress. So come dressed however you are comfortable and you will fit right in.
Do I need a Bible?
If you own a Bible you will want to bring it. Our pastors don’t preach sermons as much as they simply teach the Bible. They will refer to it often – and even encourage you to mark it up as your life-textbook. If you don't have one don't worry about it, everything that is read from the Bible will be on the big screen for you to read with ease. We also encourage the use of media devices such as smart phones and tablets to be used during our services. We know that there are some pretty amazing E-bibles and resources available.
Our pastors typically teach from what is known as the (NLT) New Living Translation of the Bible but other different translations will be used at times. If you have a version you are used to or prefer, bring it along. The differences from version to version are mostly minor. Having a NLT will simply make it easier to follow along when our pastors read or point out the wording in a particular verse or passage.
I have special needs. What accommodations do you have?
Our parking lot includes plenty of handicap parking spaces and are wheelchair accessible. If you have a special needs child, we will have a "buddy" waiting for him or her in Destiny Kids. We promise to give the best care possible tailored to your child's needs. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact our Destiny Kids Administrator, Grace Wigfield.
